Reasons for the Reduced Suction Power of Industrial Vacuum Cleaners
1. During routine inspections, check whether the filter element inside the dust collection bin is clogged. If the filter element is covered with fine dust, you’ll need to promptly disassemble it, clean it thoroughly, and then reinstall it. Single-phase vacuum cleaners often require disassembly, whereas three-phase vacuum cleaners generally don’t. Three-phase vacuum cleaners come equipped with various dust-cleaning methods—such as manual shaking, pulse cleaning, and automatic reverse blowing. For industrial vacuum cleaners with separate upper and lower bins, you can even remove the lower bin entirely without reassembling it. Simply turn on the industrial vacuum cleaner’s power switch; the machine’s inherent vibrations will shake the dust off the filter element and onto the floor.
2. The reason for weak suction could be a problem with the hose. You can test the suction strength by placing your hand over the vacuum hose opening. Check whether the suction port is blocked or torn—both conditions can affect suction power. If it’s blocked, clean it promptly; if it’s torn, replace it immediately.
3. When the workshop collects a relatively large amount of waste, you’ll gradually notice that the vacuum cleaner’s suction power is getting weaker and weaker. Another situation is when the dustbin becomes full—under these circumstances, you’ll need to promptly stop the machine and empty the waste from the dustbin.
4. The greater the power of an industrial vacuum cleaner, the stronger its suction force will be. When selecting the appropriate power, you need to consider both the volume of dust being handled and the weight of the particulate matter. Generally, industrial vacuum cleaners are designed to handle objects about the size of walnuts; objects larger than walnuts (over 3 cm in diameter) are not commonly encountered. As for the selection of dust volume capacity, it should be based on the cleaning function required. A simple and effective cleaning method can make the dust removal process less cumbersome.
