More than 70% of the nation’s autumn grain harvest is complete, with progress 2.6 percentage points faster year-on-year. According to the latest agricultural situation report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the nationwide autumn grain harvest has reached 931 million mu, completing 71.3% of the total area—2.6 percentage points faster than the same period last year. By region, the Northeast has already harvested over 70%; the Huanghuaihai region has exceeded 75%; the northwest and southwest regions have both surpassed 80%; and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River as well as South China have exceeded 55%. In Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, this year’s corn planting area exceeds 15 million mu. Currently, the harvesting progress has passed 65%, and it is expected that the entire harvest will be completed before the end of October. At a harvesting site in Beilin District, Suihua City, more than 20 sets of modern agricultural machinery are operating at full capacity. At this time, the autumn grain harvest in Guizhou Province is nearing its end, followed closely by the “succession” planting of rapeseed. In the high-yield demonstration field for rapeseed in Pinglangba Area, Pinglang Town, Duyun City, four rapeseed direct-seeding machines are working simultaneously, sowing rapeseed seeds and fertilizer into the fields at the same time. In Baiguo Village, Tuanxi Town, Zunyi, Guizhou Province, local farmers are taking advantage of the 1,000-mu dam area to plant rapeseed on 4,000 mu of land. Currently, land preparation has reached 80%, and 50% of the rapeseed transplanting has been completed. It is estimated that all transplanting will be finished within just over a week. Right now, 500,000 mu of winter wheat in Weihui, Henan Province, have entered the optimal sowing period. In the farmlands of Liuzhuang Township, Weihui City, several wheat seeders are carrying out winter wheat sowing operations, while agricultural technicians are on-site explaining key techniques such as fine land preparation, scientific seed selection, and fertilization practices to local farmers. According to reports, winter wheat sowing in Weihui City is expected to be fully completed by the end of this month. Jiangxi is an important rice-producing region across the country. At present, medium-season rice has been harvested on 13 million mu, and the province’s total harvested area has exceeded 90% of the planned target. Localities are stepping up efforts to ensure safe and efficient operation of agricultural machinery, boosting mechanized harvesting efficiency, and guaranteeing that every grain is safely stored. It is expected that Jiangxi’s medium-season rice harvest will be fully completed by the end of this month. As we enter mid-October, over 2.7 million mu of winter wheat in the Aksu region of Xinjiang have gradually entered the seedling stage. Xinhe County has sown 250,000 mu of winter wheat this year, all using drip irrigation. Farmers are busy preparing for the winter wheat’s safe overwintering. It is reported that winter wheat in Xinjiang’s Aksu region is typically sown intensively in mid-to-late September and harvested by the end of June next year. The projected yield for the 2.75 million mu of winter wheat is around 1.3 million tons.
