When encountering dirt or oil stains, how should you choose a cleaning agent for floor washing?

Generally, when using a floor scrubber, we don’t need to add any detergent. However, for floors that are heavily soiled or have oil stains, it’s advisable to add an appropriate amount of detergent to enhance the cleaning effect. So, what requirements and precautions should we keep in mind when selecting a detergent? And how should we choose a detergent specifically for use with a floor scrubber?
1. Do not add solid detergents to the floor scrubber.
We’ve found that many customers are using laundry detergent powder instead of detergent in their floor scrubbers—a practice that is highly inadvisable. Since the floor scrubber’s water-discharge pipe is extremely narrow, if the laundry detergent powder doesn’t fully dissolve, it could easily clog the pipe, resulting in weak or no water flow from the machine.
2. Choose a neutral detergent to add to the floor scrubber.
The water tank, suction hose, discharge pipe, water pipes, and sealing strips of floor scrubbers are not made of corrosion-resistant materials; therefore, we should choose a neutral detergent. Otherwise, prolonged use of non-neutral detergents will accelerate the aging of these components.
3. Choose a detergent based on the nature of the stains on the floor.
Two types of detergents are typically used on standard floor scrubbers: one is a general-purpose detergent for removing ordinary stains, and the other is an oil-dissolving agent specifically designed for oily surfaces. When the floor is heavily soiled with oil, we must use the oil-dissolving agent—only then can we effectively remove the oil stains from the floor.
4. After adding detergent, an appropriate amount of defoamer should be added to the floor scrubber’s wastewater tank.
Any detergent, once thoroughly mixed and used, will produce foam. Eventually, this foamy wastewater is collected into the floor scrubber’s wastewater tank. The floor scrubber’s water-suction motor is installed inside the wastewater tank. If there’s too much foam, it could enter the interior of the water-suction motor and cause damage. Therefore, we need to add an appropriate amount of defoamer to the floor scrubber’s wastewater tank as a precautionary measure.
