Industrial Dust Collector Trivia: Classification of Ash Discharge Devices
The ash-discharge device of an industrial dust collector is an important component of the dust removal equipment. Its operational condition directly affects the dust removal efficiency and overall performance of the dust collector. If the ash-discharge device is improperly selected, air may be drawn in through the discharge port, disrupting the airflow within the industrial dust collector, worsening operating conditions, and even causing the recovered dust to re-entrain into the air, thereby reducing purification efficiency. Alternatively, improper selection could lead to blockage of the ash-discharge port, creating significant difficulties for the dust collection system.
In the design of industrial dust collectors, the type of ash-discharge device should be determined based on the specific type of industrial baghouse dust collector, as well as the pressure conditions within the hopper and the properties of the dust, to ensure smooth and reliable ash discharge for the proper operation of the dust collector.
Ash-discharge devices are categorized into two types: dry ash-discharge devices and wet ash-discharge devices. Industrial baghouse dust collectors are typically equipped with dry ash-discharge devices, which in turn are divided into two subtypes: flap-type ash discharge valves and return-type ash discharge valves. In addition, to facilitate maintenance of the ash discharge valve, a slide valve is generally installed upstream of the discharge valve.
