What are explosion-proof valves and blast-resistant valves?


With the development of modern industry, the potential risk of dust explosions has significantly increased. Explosion-proof technology can prevent an explosion from spreading from its initial location to other process units, thereby avoiding “secondary” or system-wide explosion accidents and mitigating the severity of explosion-related disasters. Due to their simplicity and reliability, explosion-proof valves are among the most widely used explosion-proof devices internationally. The principle behind these valves is that the pressure generated during an explosion pushes a movable valve core, effectively blocking the propagation of the explosion’s flame and pressure. They are commonly used for preventing explosions in applications involving the conveyance of small amounts of dust and at the clean-air outlet side of dust collectors.
