What are the advantages of using a pressure washer?

High-pressure water jet cleaning is a physical cleaning method that, compared to traditional manual, mechanical, and chemical cleaning methods, offers the following advantages:
1. Low Cleaning Costs: First, high-pressure washers use tap water as their cleaning medium, which is readily available and widely accessible. During the cleaning process, thanks to their powerful energy output, no additional fillers or detergents are required, enabling thorough cleaning at very low costs. Second, this cleaning method is water- and energy-efficient. Unlike fire-fighting water usage, it employs a fine spray jet with nozzle diameters ranging from only 0.4 to 2 millimeters. As a result, water consumption is just 3 to 5 cubic meters per hour, and the power required for operation ranges from 37 to 90 kilowatts—making it a water- and energy-saving device.
2. Excellent Cleaning Performance: When cleaning the inner surfaces of pipes and heat exchangers, the high-pressure water jet—possessing tremendous energy and moving at supersonic speeds—is fully capable of removing all scale and blockages from within the pipes, leaving the metal substrate visibly exposed. The high-pressure water jet can completely break down even the toughest scale and blockages without causing any damage to the metal itself. At the same time, since the pressure of the high-pressure water is lower than the compressive strength of metals or reinforced concrete, it poses absolutely no risk of damaging the pipelines. This ensures high-quality cleaning. Under normal circumstances, by selecting an appropriately matched pressure level, high-pressure water jet cleaning with a cleaning machine will not harm the equipment being cleaned.
3. Fast cleaning speed: Thanks to the combined crushing effects of water jetting—including scouring, wedge-splitting, shearing, and grinding—the scale deposits can be immediately broken up and removed. This method is several to dozens of times faster than traditional chemical methods, sandblasting, shot blasting, and simple mechanical or manual cleaning techniques.
4. No environmental pollution: Unlike sandblasting, shot blasting, and simple mechanical cleaning methods that generate large amounts of dust, polluting the atmosphere and harming human health, waterjet cleaning produces neither significant dust nor harmful emissions. Similarly, unlike chemical cleaning methods that generate substantial acidic and alkaline waste liquids contaminating rivers, soil, and water quality, waterjet cleaning uses tap water as its medium—water that is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic. After being atomized into a fine mist, the water jet effectively reduces airborne dust concentrations in the work area, bringing atmospheric dust levels down from 80 milligrams per cubic meter (as measured by other methods) to below the national safety standard of 2 milligrams per cubic meter. Consequently, waterjet cleaning causes absolutely no pollution.
5. No metal corrosion: Since a purely physical method is employed, there is no corrosive effect on metals whatsoever.
6. Wide range of applications: Wherever a water jet can directly reach—whether it’s the inner cavities of pipes and containers, equipment surfaces, or even stubborn scale deposits and solid blockages—it can swiftly detach them from their original substrate and thoroughly clean them. This cleaning method places no special demands on the material, properties, shape of the equipment, or type of fouling; all that’s required is the ability to deliver a direct jet. As a result, its applications are extremely broad.
The high-pressure cleaning industry has always been an indispensable and vital component of both industrial and civil applications. Compared with other cleaning methods, high-pressure water jet cleaning boasts unparalleled advantages in terms of cleaning effectiveness and efficiency, cleaning costs, and environmental friendliness.
