What is dry ice cleaning?
Dry ice cleaning is a cleaning process in which a high-pressure air stream propels dry ice pellets from a dry ice cleaning machine onto the surface to be cleaned. The physical phenomenon of temperature difference causes materials with different thermal expansion rates to separate from one another. When dry ice pellets at -78 degrees Celsius come into contact with a contaminated surface, they undergo a brittle-fragile explosion, causing the contaminants to contract and loosen. Subsequently, the dry ice pellets instantly vaporize and expand by a factor of 800. Thanks to their powerful stripping force, these pellets quickly remove contaminants from the surface of objects, achieving fast, efficient, safe, and energy-saving cleaning results. The carbon dioxide used in dry ice cleaning originates from industrial exhaust gases and air separation processes at high altitudes. Dry ice cleaning itself does not generate additional carbon dioxide.
