What about dusts that are flammable and explosive? Dusts containing large amounts of CO and H2, as well as substances like flour, coal dust, and wood shavings, are all highly flammable. When industrial dust collectors operate in environments containing these materials, it is essential to ensure the reliable sealing of the dust collection equipment to prevent the intake of air or leakage of combustible gases. Of course, the dust collectors themselves are also designed with certain explosion-proof features, which must adhere to specific principles, such as:
1. Regarding the structure of dust collectors: Baghouse dust collectors used for handling combustible gases are typically designed in a cylindrical shape to ensure smoother dust flow and prevent excessive dust accumulation.
2. The dust collector is equipped with fire- and explosion-proof dust collection bags, and a pressure-relief device has been added.
3. The dust collector must ensure continuous dust removal to prevent dust accumulation.
4. Avoid dead corners in flue gas ducts as much as possible to ensure unobstructed flow; and increase the airflow velocity to prevent gas stagnation.
5. Install a safety valve on the pipeline upstream of the fan to allow for emergency pressure relief in the event of a gas explosion.
The upper safety valve is typically located at the top of the flue. During normal operation, the pressure cover is held down by a water seal to maintain a tight seal; the height of the water seal is 250 mm. In the unlikely event of intense combustion inside the flue, if the pressure exceeds the weight of the pressure cover, the cover will be forcibly opened immediately to relieve the pressure.
The lower safety valve is located at the front of the machine. During normal operation, the pressure cap remains closed, sealing the relief port under the action of a weight. A thin copper plate is welded inside the relief port; in the event of an explosion, the gas will burst through the copper plate, opening the pressure cap and relieving the pressure.
