The difference between sweeping with a broom and using a floor-scrubbing robot.
With the advancement of technology, we can’t help but marvel at how many conveniences it has brought to lazy people. Take robot vacuums, for example—back in the day, we used brooms to sweep floors, which was both exhausting and time-consuming. But that situation has improved significantly since the advent of robot vacuums. Look at the friends in the picture below: as soon as they start talking about how to clean their rooms, their friendship seems to be on the verge of sinking! How do you clean with a broom? Generally, many people still choose brooms to clean their homes. We can use brooms to tidy up our surroundings—even reach those tricky corners and protrusions—but it can be quite tiring. Brooms are inexpensive, usually costing just a few yuan, and some even come with a dustpan attached. This is a cleaning process carried out entirely by manual labor. The duration and effort involved in cleaning depend on factors such as room size, layout, furniture, and appliances, making the experience quite variable from one user to another. Of course, holding a broom and sweeping the floor is an everyday chore for most people. Cleaning with a broom is certainly more “hands-on” than using mechanical devices. However, the downside of using brooms or sweepers is that they require manual operation, which can easily lead to fatigue—and even the physical strain caused by prolonged use can affect elderly people and children. If you’re an office worker, have limited downtime in other professions, or are a young person who simply doesn’t enjoy sweeping, then a robot vacuum can solve your cleaning woes. Of course, robot vacuums are more expensive than brooms. So what exactly is a robot vacuum, and how thoroughly does it clean? A robot vacuum is an electric cleaning device equipped with a microcomputer system that can clean specific areas or the entire room according to user settings. In general, robots that clean, vacuum, and mop floors are all considered smart robot vacuums. Smart robot vacuums are also known as intelligent vacuum cleaners, smart robotic vacuum cleaners, or cleaning robots. Robot vacuums can effectively remove debris from your home, and when their batteries run low, they’ll automatically return to their charging dock. If you don’t have time to clean your home, you can schedule cleanings in advance. Whether you’re at work, traveling, or on a business trip, you only need to set the cleaning time, and the robot will do its job precisely when you’ve scheduled it. Typically, robot vacuums excel at picking up small particles like paper scraps, hair, beans, and dust—but they can’t handle larger items such as aluminum cans, plastic water bottles, or broken tiles. The emergence of robot vacuums can truly be described as a small household appliance that saves us time and frees up our hands. However, these products tend to be pricier than brooms, usually ranging from several hundred to several thousand yuan. If you’re not facing financial constraints, you might want to consider investing in this handy cleaning assistant. As we’ve seen above, using a robot vacuum makes cleaning your home far easier than using a broom. That said, it’s still important to keep brooms and mops handy as manual cleaning tools, because there are certain types of debris that even the best robot vacuums can’t handle. In today’s fast-paced society, with high work pressures, coming home and having to deal with chores like cooking and sweeping can be incredibly frustrating. With a robot vacuum, I’m sure it’ll reduce the likelihood of couples arguing or even breaking up over such trivial matters.
