Who says cleaning and housekeeping aren't technical jobs?
In recent years, as the use of specialized building materials has increased, ordinary cleaning tools such as brooms, mops, and cloths have fallen far short of delivering effective cleaning and maintenance results. Take floor cleaning as an example: mops cannot thoroughly remove dirt from both the surface of the floor and contaminants that have already penetrated deep into its layers. On the contrary, once residual wastewater dries, it can dull the floor’s color, leaving the floor inadequately cleaned. In fact, using appropriate cleaning machinery and equipment not only reduces cleaning time but also significantly enhances cleaning effectiveness. We typically categorize cleaning equipment and supplies into four main types: equipment, tools, consumables, and care agents. Different building materials require different cleaning agents, which must be used in conjunction with corresponding modern cleaning equipment.
(1) Cleaning Equipment. Cleaning equipment can be categorized into the following five types based on function: 1. Sweeping Equipment. Major items include floor sweepers, etc. 2. Scrubbing Equipment. Major items include floor scrubbers, multi-functional scrubbers, high-speed polishing machines, stone renovation machines, crystal surface treatment machines, carpet extractors, escalator cleaning machines, and dry-foam sofa cleaners, etc. 3. Water and Dust Absorption Equipment. Major items include water suction machines, dust collection machines, and combined water-and-dust suction machines. 4. Pressure-Based Equipment. Major items include high-pressure washers and steam cleaners, etc. 5. Other Mechanical Cleaning Equipment. Major items include three-speed blowers and pool cleaning machines. Meanwhile, technological advancements have led to the development of driving-type cleaning machines based on the original push-type models, as well as battery-powered cleaning equipment replacing the earlier corded models.
(2) Cleaning tools. Cleaning tools typically include tool carts, mops for wringing out water, cloths, scouring pads, brooms, dustpans, mops, and the like. It’s worth noting that these tools have undergone significant material changes compared to traditional cleaning implements. Take cloths as an example: ordinary cotton cloths have gradually been replaced by various ultra-fine fiber materials, resulting in greatly improved cleaning performance. Ultra-fine fiber is a high-quality, high-tech textile material characterized by its exceptional water absorption, powerful stain-removal capability, no shedding of fibers, long service life, ease of cleaning, and resistance to color fading. As a result, it is widely used in the cleaning industry.
