How do you choose an industrial vacuum cleaner?
How do you choose an industrial vacuum cleaner? In different manufacturing plants, dust removal needs vary significantly, primarily depending on the specific operating conditions. Most factories engage in routine cleaning tasks, and industrial vacuum cleaners can effectively remove large areas of floor dust, particulate matter, water stains, or oil spills, while also reducing the physical workload of employees and boosting overall work efficiency. So, when selecting an industrial vacuum cleaner for a factory, what technical parameters should you take into account?
1. Voltage: Vacuum cleaners commonly used in commercial and industrial settings can be categorized by voltage as follows: DC voltages (battery-powered vacuum cleaners come in three types—24V, 36V, and 48V); and AC voltages, which include two types: single-phase (220V) and three-phase (380V). The higher the voltage, the greater the power output, and consequently, the stronger the suction and airflow.
2. Airflow: Airflow refers to the total volume of air that the vacuum cleaner’s impeller delivers or draws in per minute—that is, the rate at which air circulates over a given period of time. The airflow of a vacuum cleaner is determined by the motor’s power rating; the greater the airflow, the faster the motor dissipates heat.
3. Functionality: The functionality of industrial and commercial vacuum cleaners differs from that of household vacuum cleaners. Industrial and commercial vacuum cleaners are typically designed for both dry and wet cleaning, whereas household vacuum cleaners include smart, networked models that can handle dry, wet, and even blow-cleaning functions. As for industrial vacuum cleaners, their dust-removal functions fall into three categories: manual dust removal, pulse dust removal, and electromagnetic dust removal. Pulse dust removal relies on external force (compressed air) to clean the filter element, while electromagnetic dust removal uses the vacuum cleaner’s own motor to generate airflow for filtering dust. For large-scale, long-term waste cleanup in factories, it’s best to choose a three-phase industrial vacuum cleaner. If there’s significant dust generation, a dust collector is recommended.
